This is 100% a place for remembering Jason and one great thing we can do to honor Jason’s memory is use our love for him to blast a message so strong and loud that everyone can hear and make a difference. If we do that, Jason saves lives. And that’s an idea I really like.

Here’s something Mike posted yesterday on MySpace that is getting a ton of resposts. It is the absolute perfect message to spread in Jason’s memory. I wanted to share it here along with a video that really drives home the point. It’s a song that means a lot to me and I hope it can mean something to you. Just a warning, the song and the music video are very real and hit very close to home. But I think if people realize how real this is for people, then hopefully they will listen to Mike’s call to action and they will be the hero.

Be The Hero

Its ok to have a good time and party. I’ve been to parties where people have had too much and left. And lived. If you are at a party and think someone has had too much to drink, DO NOT let them drive. Do not be “cool” with someone who has had too much and let them walk out the door. They don’t deserve it. Make them stop. Take their keys, physically if needed. Take their keys before they try to leave. BE THE HERO even if people think you are being overbearing or a parental. Make a scene. Save the life. Not just the drunk’s life, but the lives of the family driving on the other side of the road. They could be your family! If someone tells you that they might drive after drinking, GO get them! DO NOT BE “COOL” with them. BE THE HERO. And one more thing…If you see someone trying to BE THE HERO…help them.

BE A HERO;

Please watch this video and indent in your memory. Not just for Gail and her son Jason killed by a drunk driver, but for all  of us who think that it is okay to  have a drink and drive.

Below is Jasons memorial roadside  memorial.
