Mikes Tribute: July 25, 2009
Mike wrote the song "The Simple Things" for Jason.

The Simple Things
Composed, played and sung by Michael Posluszny
He enjoyed the simple things, but he still knew how to dream.
And unfortunatly for me he has gone and fallen asleep.
He would alwwys do his part, to help where he can;
And for all the times he helped, he never asked to fill his hand.
Cause he enjoyed the simple things. He was Isaac's water wings.
He loved him like his own and loved to teach him things.
When we finally spread the news, about what we had to lose,
I saw a double rainbow and had a feeling it was you.
He enjoyed the simple things, like novel cell phone rings.
And cheesy fries and a heart so big, it couldn't hide.
We grew so close lately. I think he looked up to me.
But he was an inch taller he pointed out proudly.
He enjoyed the simple things, like showing that he cared.
With a cookie and a shove, it was brotherly love.
And fortunately for me, I was able to be there,
On occasion that he nedded help, to show him that I cared.
He enjoyed the simple things, and didn't mind for us to see.
Like the wallet that he bought, the one they brought to me.
Now I'm left with memories. I'll never let them fade.
I'll never forget him, and all the happiness he made.
He had a thousand friends, and had them through the end.
He had a lot of love. They're lucky up above.
Matt's Tribute:
July 29, 2009 Matt speaks out on Citrus 95 and gives tribute to Jason.
Matt's radio tribute is what you hear playing on this page.

July 31, 2009 - Citrus 95 donated a tree and memorial brick in Jasons name
to Rainbow Springs.

Jason's tree is a magnolia and will grow tall and have beautiful flowers. It is planted by the park entrance where anyone can visit without paying. His memorial brick will be placed aprox Jan. 10th in front of the directory, the closest spot they have available towards his tree.

This is Debbie Lee. She not only babied Jason's tree until the park received approval to plant his tree, but also picked the spot and maintains it. She is a wonderful sweet woman.
Here's me by Jason's tree. I plan to take a picture each year on July 25th to see how much it has grown.

Thank you Citrus 95 for your generous support.
A special thanks to Vince (Jason's Dad) for all his help with not only the memorial ceremony, but also the tattoo's and decals.
We never could have given Jason such a beautiful tribute without you.
Window Decals
Trish, Mike, Matt and Dalyce designed these beautiful window decals for our cars. We all display them proudly in our rear window to remember Jason.

Jason's Cabinet
I gathered up all Jason's most precious possessions and created my tribute to my son.
This first picture is the cabinet I bought for his things. There’s shelves with doors on the bottom to keep things I dont need to display. I keep my favorite dream catcher hanging on the front. At night the fan blows the chimes and it is very peaceful. The second is another pic with the doors open...

Top shelf includes the flip flops he was wearing in the crash, his 21st birthday cards, his shot glass collection, his coke glasses he was collecting as well as his baby book.
The second shelf has his last 2 bottles of IBC rootbeer, his fav, and his mike’s hard lemonade. The scrapbook has all the cards we received. The drum sticks ironically just arrived last week. He obviously ordered them quite a while ago. The vase in the corner was my mothers day present from him. I stuck a rose in it. Also some of his game cases, his extra xbox headset an the guest registry.

The bottom shelf is the most precious. His urn with his iphone in front of it (Matt said that was a must). His middle school yearbooks and his graduation year yearbook called "My Own Legacy". His electric razor, his POTC watch, and the little pink heart dish he brought home for me just days before the crash. I put his bottle cap collection in there. And his AXE.. had to have axe!! His last shopping list i have too along with other important papers.

I have since added tons to his cabinet. Will post an updated pic soon.
Jason's facebook is also a tribute to him.

Daylce’s Mom, Denise bought Jason a star.
Such a beautiful gift. I treasure it. Here is the registry.

MADD Candlight Vigil - Dec 2, 2009 Harry P Lue Gardens, Orchid Room, Orlando Florida.
My personal tribute to my son is to fight what took his life, drunk drivers. I am in the process of opening a local MADD Community Action Site (CAS) in Citrus county. I have the support of the Citrus County Sheriff's Dept and Sheriff Jeff Dawsey. I feel compelled to join the fight in making our roads safer to drive on, and being the voice in Citrus County, for MADD. Things are falling into place.
The vigil turned out to be a beautiful ceremony. Ashley, my Mom, and I all went on the night we had that horrid storm coming, but nothing was going to stop me from going. I was honored to have my sons memory included.
I was very glad I went. It was not only a tribute to Jason, but a tribute to every person who had been hurt or killed due to the actions of a drunk driver, or any out of control behavior on the roads.
We then lit individual candles and each took a turn going up to the podium and saying who we were
lighting our candle for.
"I light this candle for my son Jason Posluszny who was killed by a drunk driver in July of this year.
Love you and miss you very much Jas"
We also have the MADD walk coming up in May, but will post more about that as it gets closer.
So many tributes, so touching.
This website is also a tribute to my son, not just mine, but "ours".
Let's join together and add to the site, his life story.
I know he would feel wonderful knowing we were all bonded together through his spirit.
Thank you to each and every one of you who touched Jason's life, or my families life.
We love you all.
If you have your own tribute, PLEASE add it to this page.
